Convertible Dinette

This is the dining area which I designed for my barge. It is raised so that when seated the large windows are at eye level, extra storage is also created underneath. It has been designed to convert into a guest sleeping platform by lowering the table on a gas sprung leg. The low wall on one side can be raised on an electric actuator to create a semi private enclosed area. With the wall raised, you may access two large cupboards, one of which leads to a secret tunnel which comes out inside the children's bedroom cabin (indicated by pink arrow). The bedroom cabin's cupboards are built in underneath the seating area.

This was drawn in Sketchup and then converted into a spreadsheet using a plug-in called Cutlist. All of the parts were delivered cut to size and edged where needed by our timber supplier, this is the method my company uses for many of our bespoke furniture projects.
